Agaves by sun and blue moon

September 12, 2023

I’ve been out in West Texas again for a week, doing garden shoots for the forthcoming book. Meanwhile, here at home, as I’ve been waiting for the summer from hell to break, I’ve been admiring stalwart agaves. They look good by sun…

…and blue moon.

Here’s to fall being right around the corner, bringing cooler temps and rain for all of Texas. I hope, I hope!

Looking good! My A. salmiana’s central two leaves are black. Otherwise it’s fine. My A. ovatifolia also looks good.

Agaves for the win when it’s hot and dry. And if they can make it through a deep freeze too, so much the better.
