No Rain? No Problem. Read my interview about waterwise gardening in Garden Gate magazine

August 30, 2019

It’s been a hot, dry summer for a lot of us, and our gardens may be looking pretty parched right about now. I grow a waterwise garden here in Austin, but even so I lost a few plants after the rain spigot cut off in mid-July. There’s always more I can do to make my own garden more of a water-saver, not a water-guzzler, and perhaps you feel the same way.

If so, look for my interview in Garden Gate magazine’s current issue, September/October 2019, on newsstands now. In “No Rain? No Problem. You Can Still Have a Gorgeous Garden” (pages 12-15), editor Sherri Ribbey interviewed me about ways to make any garden more water thrifty, and I shared some of my favorite low-water plants.

I hope you’ll check it out. And if you want to learn even more, pick up a copy of my book The Water-Saving Garden, which Garden Gate is offering through its Web Extras site (issue 149). Happy reading, and then happy planting this fall!

I always enjoy reading your articles and viewing your photos! INSPIRATION!

Looked for Country Gardens at Lowe’s today, hoping to snag your article on Michael Gordon’s garden, but no luck (that’s where I picked up an earlier issue with PamP content). Hoping that’s because it sold out, but slightly concerned because it looked as if the store’s magazine offerings had shrunk significantly overall).

Uh-oh, I hope that’s not the case. Not to be sales-y, but it’s worth subscribing to. A subscription often ends up being cheaper if you’d buy more than one issue per year, which you’ll want to because they have such great content. 🙂
