Skullduggery among the agaves
Amused by skull-tipped agaves in Dan Johnson’s Denver garden, I’ve given a few of my own agaves the Yorick treatment. Turns out, all sorts of skull beads can be found online. Who knew!? I ordered strings of yellow, orange, and white.
Here’s a little ‘Cream Spike’ agave wearing all three colors. So goth, yet cheery.
Pale blue Agave parryi var. truncata goes au naturel with white skulls.
And flashy, yellow-striped ‘Quadricolor’ gets the all-yellow treatment.
My daughter asked if I was decorating early for Halloween. Nope. Just having a little skullduggery fun in the garden.

“So goth, yet cheery.”
LOL! Yeah, the candy corn subtext is working pretty hard against the goth effect.
Hah! Candy corn skulls. Must have been a subconscious choice. 😉
Love it!
🙂
This is such a simple “duh” idea. You could try it with any type of face beads, animal beads, flower beads, rock beads, etc…Whatever rocks your boat. Brilliant!
Right? I can envision a lot of fun surprises in the agave garden.
One never knows where a creative spark will alight. Too funny.
Or what will appeal enough to replicate in one’s own garden.
