Zinnias & butterfly

November 10, 2009

Here are a couple more images from the Antique Rose Emporium in San Antonio.

Hope you’ve enjoyed the cheery pink zinnias as much as I did—and that butterfly. Have a great day!

  1. How can anyone not like Zinnias? Yes, I know they have mildew problems, but give them some air and look at all the winged flowers you get. Thanks for the beautiful photos. Wish I could have been there with you. I’m in Oklahoma, but my soul is that of an Austin gardener.~~Dee
Wish you could have been here too, Dee! 🙂 —Pam

OOOooooooo love these photos. I am feeling the urge to start some butterfly on flowers paintings. Pretty pretty. I did so enjoy the tour. Wish we had some gardens to tour around here this time of year.
Butterfly-flowers paintings would be a fine way to pass the winter, Lisa. Good idea. —Pam

  3. Pam it’s like you’re doing a post for my 4 year old niece! Pink and butterflies are her favorite things in the whole wide world.
They make me pretty happy too. Guess it’s the 4-year-old in me. 😉 —Pam

I wish you were too, Gail. You’d have loved the Rose Emporium. One day, right? —Pam

  5. Amy Emerick says:

Very pretty and that butterfly has great colors. I didn’t get any pics at the Rose Emporium. I’ll just look at your pretty photos 🙂
Thanks, Amy. I’m glad you enjoyed the pics from the nursery. It’s so photogenic I couldn’t resist. —Pam

  6. I got the ARE catalog for a while when I had my sunny garden. I dreamed of growing lots of roses but only had one that came with that house. Alas, I left it behind not realizing I would never find one that grew as well for me. What great display gardens at ARE. Mark was on here reading last night while you were commenting on his leaf post!
I won’t be growing lots of roses in my new garden either, Linda. Too much shade and too many deer. That’s OK though. I’ll always enjoy visiting ARE for its other plants, display gardens, and gift shop. —Pam

Pam, I love that butterfly picture! Like Dee, I’ve got the soul of an Austin gardener. Someday I hope to come along on one of y’all’s jaunts even though I’m only a wannabe!
That would be great, Cindy. Wish you could have joined us in Peckerwood last year, seeing as we were so close to Katy! —Pam
