How pretty! It looks like it is soaking up the sun.
The rosy color of ‘Best of Friends’ does look sunny and bright. —Pam
What a beauty. I just love daylilies that have that green in their throat. It won’t be long and we will have our first.
I love the green throat too. Enjoy yours when they bloom! —Pam
Daylilies are so bright and showy, and this one is a beauty!
Thanks, Nancy. This one is also a good grower, and I’ve been able to divide it numerous times over the years to get more plants and to give some away. —Pam
Great daylily photo, Pam. I like the position from the side instead of full on face like most photos. Were you lying on your side on the path when you took it?~~Dee
Ha! No, I didn’t have to lie down for this one, Dee. But it’s been known to happen for a good shot. —Pam
You’ve given me daylily envy. I’m aching for the sight of my own. But I have at least another month to 6 weeks to go. I guess I shouldn’t rush through this great weather too fast. I’d better take it as it comes and be grateful for it. All too soon the snow will fly again !
The snow won’t be flying here any time soon, and it won’t even be cool again until late October. I’m soaking up the mild spring weather while we have it. I know you must look forward to spring and then summer in the way that I look forward to fall after a long, hot summer. —Pam
Your daylily is stunning! I love the colors!
Thanks, Robin. It’s one of my faves too. —Pam
Wonderful daylily. I am awaiting for the few buds I have to open someday. I can’t wait to see them all for the first time
I hope yours open soon. Daylilies are always so cheerful, aren’t they? —Pam
Is this always your first daylily to open? It is a stunner. Our first is always the red Pardon Me, by about two weeks. Normally that happens at the end of May, hey,it’s May now, so it will be here before we know it, hooray!
Yes, ‘Best of Friends’ always opens first, by several weeks. I don’t know if that’s because of its location or its nature. I grow it in the sunnier front garden. The other two varieties are in more shade in the back. I look forward to seeing ‘Pardon Me’ on your blog soon. —Pam
The color of that daylily reminds me of light colored coral from the sea…absolutely gorgeous!
It’s funny, because I’m not a big fan of coral in my garden. But the warm tones of this daylily have always pleased me. —Pam
