It’s Digging Day!
May 17, 2007
Colleen at In the Garden Online has generously designated today Digging Day and written a very kind post about this blog in honor of the Mouse & Trowel awards I won. Her description of my blog and my garden is very moving to me, as are the sample comments from voters that she shared.
Thanks, Colleen! And, readers, thanks again for your support in the Mousies.
Pam: Well deserved! Love that salvia with the bottle tree picture!
Thanks, Layanee. —Pam
Yes, very well deserved. Your garden is fantastic and the photos you took on the garden tours are spectacular. The one of the St. John’s Wort took my breath away. It’s like a garden fairy, and I was just reading somewhere today that it is the object of chemical extermination in certain sites, probably because of it’s invasiveness. Maybe it was just a nasty rumor!
By the way, my copy of The Landscaping Revolution just arrived today. I ordered it after reading about it on your post, and I got the one with the “Marxist” cover. Used, but in perfect condition. Will get started as soon as I read parts of the other 3 I just bought…
I’m glad you liked the garden tour, Anna Maria. And I hope you enjoy the Landscaping Revolution as much as I did. Even if you don’t agree with all of it, it’s a thought-provoking, good read about how most of us garden. —Pam
Pam… I have an old garden bench that I put in my raised bed vegetable garden every year. I painted it an *inspiring* cream color a few years ago, but the paint is chipping off, so I need to repaint it. I might do what Colleen suggested and paint it a bright color in your honor. Maybe tomato red or carrot orange or eggplant purple! Congrats again on all your mousies!
Carol at May Dreams Gardens Where We Had a Very Light Frost Last Night But No Real Damage Done
Ha! I love that idea. I hope you’ll post a picture afterward. Glad to hear, also, that no damage was done during your light frost! —Pam
