Giving thanks in the garden

November 25, 2008

We celebrate our national day of Thanksgiving on Thursday, but I believe gardeners give thanks all year long.

We give thanks for fleeting moments of beauty.

We give thanks for seasonal changes that remind us to be grateful for each moment we’re given.

And we give thanks for the friends who share their precious time to take the journey with us.
Thank you, and happy Thanksgiving.

  5. Indeed, there is much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving, even in the midst of the national gloom that currently surrounds our economy. Near the top of my list of “thanks,” as always, will be my garden. But also right up there will be bloggers like you from whom I’ve learned so much this past year. Thanks, Pam.

May you have a wonderful filling Thanksgiving, the first in your new home, Pam. So much for all of us to be thankful for. I am especially thankful for you helping me get started in the blogdom. My anniversary is coming up soon, and I still have the emails you sent helping me get through the steps of joining this very special group of garden bloggers. Thanks to you and your kindness.

You are so right that many of us gardeners have thankful hearts; partly because we are surrounded by so much beauty. My garden is rather messy, or cottage style, but to me it is full of grace, including a statue of Mary, which turns my thoughts to prayer.
I especially like your garden sign photo, of the 3 grey birds,
