New Year’s wishes for the garden
December 31, 2011
As we ring in 2012 tonight, here’s to a happy and bountiful new year in the garden.
May you have plenty of beckoning flowers
And glowing foliage
Enough rainwater to slake the garden’s thirst
Sunny days to lift your spirit and a shady spot to sit and enjoy this beautiful world.
Happy New Year!

A beautiful heartfelt post Pam. I wish you these very sentiments. Happy New Year.
And to you, Lisa! Any chance we’ll get to catch up again in person at this year’s Garden Bloggers Fling? —Pam
Ditto.
Thanks for your thoughtful comments this year, Greggo. Happy New Year! —Pam
Lovely Pam! Thank you and Happy New Year!
And to you, Shirley. I loved your recent pics of San Antonio’s lights. How I wish I’d seen them in the old days—very romantic. —Pam
A happy and healthy New Year for you, your family and your plants!
Thanks, Tina, and to you. I’m glad you joined the ranks of the Austin garden bloggers this year. —Pam
Happy New Year, Pam!! Let’s make it a fun gardening year no matter the drought forecast!!
Yes! And if I slip into complaining at any point, you have my permission to slap me and remind me that I get to plant more agaves. —Pam
The photo you chose for “sunny days to lift your spirit”…perfect! Something about that light. Pleasant light, not that of the boiling death star. May you have all those things, esp that 3/4” of rain/week all year!
It’s December light, David. That’s the difference! 🙂 —Pam
Happy New Year, Pam.
Wishing you all good things in the new year, too.
Here’s to a new year. I hope it’s a very good for you too, Linda! —Pam
Lovely, and universal in sentiment. Thanks, and best wishes to you, Pam!
Happy 2012, Jocelyn! —Pam
Thanks Pam! Please make going to Big Bend one of your 2012 resolutions. I am going back in March/April to see the cacti blooming. Going there finally gave me an appreciation for Agaves and provided some great inspiration for landscaping my yard. The whole time I was there I thought of you and what beautiful photos you would be taking. I posted the link to my photos on Facebook. You should also check out the Flickr pool on the VisitBigBend web site.
Sheryl, I really want to go! Maybe Xmas break 2012. I’m so glad it gave you a newfound appreciation for agaves. I will check out your photos soon, but in the meantime I want to direct you to Cat’s beautiful images. She did a series of three posts: Big Bend in Dec. 2010; Big Bend mountains; and Big Bend river. —Pam
Happy New Year Pam…thanks for your July visit and making the 2010 Garden Bloggers Fling a highlight of the year for me.
Loree, I’m so grateful to know you in “real life” and not just via a screen! Plan a trip to Austin soon. Happy New Year! —Pam
Happy New Year, Pam. Love the sentiments and wish them for you as well.
Thank you, Carol! I’m so glad to know you. Here’s to a wonderful 2012! —Pam
What a lovely post! Thank you for all the inspiration this past year Pam. I wish you a very happy New Year and Stunning 2012 Garden!
And to you, Christine! Thank you for your visits and comments this past year. —Pam
Thanks Pam for the links to Cat’s photos. They made me laugh out loud. What is it with gardeners? We go to a beautiful place with grand vistas but just HAVE to take photos of plants.
The passion cannot be denied! It’s all nature, it’s all one though. What amazes me is that so many people never notice… —Pam
Happy New Year to you! Can’t wait to see what you have in store for 2012 😉
I feel the same way about Rhone Street, Scott. Happy New Year! —Pam
Thanks for blogging in 2011, Pam! Always enjoy your posts. Hope 2012 brings much happiness to you – in and out of the garden.
And to you, Cloverann! May 2012 be a very good year for you and yours! —Pam
