Flowerlicious June morning

Here’s a virtual bouquet for my mother, who was named for this June day. Happy birthday, Mom!


‘Colorado’ water lily, up close and personal (also pictured at top)


Nymphaea ‘Colorado’ is a total knockout from any angle.


‘Lavender Lady’ passionflower looks like an alien life form.


Each Dr. Seussian flower is a carnival of color, and this is one Passiflora that won’t seed out and take over.


Cottage classic purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea) always pleases.


‘Apple Tart’ daylily’s flowers are as hot as these early June days.


Sundrops (Calylophus berlandieri), a rock-garden native, glows like a miniature sun amid the agaves of the raised bed.

    Beautiful images for Mom. Happy Birthday Mom. She is another I will add to my June birthday group. I know at least 10 people that have a birthday in June.

    Happy birthday wishes to your mom. All our birthdays are winter and spring. It’d be so nice to celebrate a June birthday because there’s such great stuff around for bouquets, as your photos beautifully show.

    I think my yard is the only place around that native passionflower refuses to invade and I would love to have them.

    Gorgeous photos! We are being inundated by rain and cool weather! Ugh. Do you think the rain will hurt the succulents? Yikes!
