Garden shed has a roof
Progress may be slow, but progress is still progress! About two years ago we replaced a sagging eyesore of a fence, which also wrapped around the pool pump. I had the bright idea to build a faux garden house around the pump, and after getting a couple of estimates to build it, my husband had the bright idea to do it himself.
Two years later, the garden house has evolved into a simpler shed (but still with the hip roof I wanted; thank you, honey!), and the skeleton frame now has a metal roof, which was FREE thanks to MSS of Zanthan Gardens donating it to our project. Who-hoo! Is it possible that the siding will go on soon, enabling me to paint before the heat of summer arrives? Stay tuned!

It looks like the hard part is finished. Here’s hoping the siding will soon be attached.
The thrill in your voice says it all, Pam! It looks great, as does that fence. I agree with Lisa, the siding will be easier and go faster than what has gone before. Although there will be a door? Or just open on one side?
Thanks, Frances. The door will be on the left side. I would also like to have faux double doors on the long side facing the garden (visible here). —Pam
Your husband is to be congratulated on doing a fine job. It must be very exciting to see the project well on its way to completion.
Looks like a great start — how wonderful that he can do that for you. Love the roof – can’t wait to see it finished.
Way to go Husband!! You are really going to enjoy this Pam.
Hooray for sheds! Our Cottage Ornee is classified as a shed on our tax bill and it has a hip roof which I love. Our newest shed is essentially a lean-to on the back of the Tractor shed. no need for a hip roof there.
Yay!Always fun to have a new structure to play with, around,on!
Wooo hooo indeed! Way to go Husband!!
Love the roof, Pam!
What an excellent idea, and I love that roof, beautiful.
Boy, love that progress. You will have something this Summer to plant around.
The metal roof is perfect. And, you for sure can’t beat free. I love it, when things start to come together.
You may not believe it, but I’ve been wondering about the progress of your shed. I love the metal roof, a solution we’ve been contemplating in future fence and pergola projects to outfox the termites. And we’ve got nothing but “bright ideas” to do it ourselves — and consequently our projects can span some considerable lengths of time.
A very fine job~I love it. gail
