Red light district

September 09, 2008

Roxanne, you don’t have to put on the red light.

But I’m glad you did. Those days aren’t over yet, and you still have another week or two to shine.
The awkward shot above shows a combination I like: pale pavonia (Pavonia hastata ) with oxblood lily (Rhodophiala bifida ). The pavonia’s reddish-purple centers pick up the red of the lilies. Purple oxalis and purple heart at their feet contrast with the red.

Pam – Love the Oxblood lilies — I think they must be liking this ever-so-slightly-cooler weather, don’t you think?

I have a red light district too(-: I need to get a picture of them before they all finish blooming. I have just been to busy lately to keep up.
